Jennifer's Bio

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years of experience working in the field of mental health and addiction services. I earned my degree in Community Mental Health Counseling and have worked in both home and office settings. I have certifications in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.

My theoretical orientation is Existential in nature, whereby I believe that while we cannot control many of the things that cause us pain in life, we are able to change the way we think about them. I also believe that it is our own personal responsibility to make the life we truly want, regardless of our current situation.

By accepting that we are not victims of circumstance, we can become empowered to change what we do not want to accept. Together, we will focus on your strengths and opportunities for growth, and when you are ready we will set goals towards making changes that will positively affect your life.

My areas of expertise are chronic mental illness, depression, anxiety, life adjustments, parenting difficulties, and addiction.
